Mentheae (Nepetoideae - Lamiaceae) from the Itatiaia National Park, Brazil

Abstract This study details the floristic diversity of Mentheae (Lamiaceae - Nepetoideae) from Itatiaia National Park, first Protected Area in Brazil. Among 30 species Lamiaceae cited for we recorded 15 belonging to arranged seven genera: Cunila (2 spp.), Hedeoma (1 sp.), Hesperozygis Lepechinia Prunella Rhabdocaulon and Salvia (8 spp.). The region presents significant diversity, considering 62 native Brazilian Southeast. are distributed Park’s different vegetation types, mostly shaded areas ombrophilous forests or throughout high-altitude grasslands. We provide a complete description each an identification key, as well comments on distribution, habitat, morphological variation, phenology.
